Mission Statement:
To prevent the loss of life and to control or reduce the loss of property by applying our professional knowledge and resources. We will accomplish this mission through code enforcement, public education, fire investigation, and professional development training. It is our number one priority to provide a safe environment to all employees, citizens, firefighters and visitors of our great county.
General Overview:
The Warren County Fire Marshal is responsible to ensure fire code compliance for Warren County owned and operated facilities. Certified by the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety, the Fire Marshal enforces fire code compliance through the NJ Uniform Fire Code and the 2015 International Fire Code. NJ edition.
As a trained and certified fire investigator the Fire Marshal investigates fires in the County to determine the cause of fires. This exhaustive process provides valuable information to prevent future loss of life through aggressive fire prevention initiatives.
As a Past-Chief of the Hackettstown Fire Department the Fire Marshal has the experience and skills necessary to assist the fire departments within our County. The Fire Marshal responds to reported structure fires within the County providing support and resources as needed by the Fire Chief. This policy provides the Fire Marshal the ability to begin the fire investigation process as soon possible.
One of the Fire Marshal's top priorities is to provide public fire education. Every opportunity is taken to provide safety education to citizens of all ages. The best way to prevent life loss during a fire is for the public to posses the knowledge necessary to prevent and escape fires.
